Dance With Somebody.... Or Better Don't!

What IS that? was the first thought to cross my mind when stumbling over Sweden's hottest rock band's (Mando Diao, of course) new single Dance With Somebody. Though it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Jennifer Rush' similar-named track, Dance With Somebody does make you dance. Plus, it's extremely catchy. And it makes you sing along after listening it the second time. Is that a good sign? Is a Mando Diao song supposed to be catchy? Danceable? So disco? NO!
Where are you, Mando Diao? I so miss songs like God Knows, Cut The Rope, Killer Kaczynski, and Motown Blood, where you showed the whole world how Sweden can rock!
But now? Now you're producing smooth songs, which turn out to be perfect coffee party radio songs. After my having heard the new single for like three times, I had enough of it, couldn't hear it anymore. You're so not mando anymore. Please, please, let Dance With Somebody be an exception on the up-coming album Give Me Fire! With Mando Diao's potential, the new CD must have more to offer than a catchy dance track... hopefully at least!

Must-Haves But Can't-Gets

I really, really, really need to get these clothes. Most them, however, are from American shops, the delivery fees of which I can't possibly afford. But there are also some topshop products which I might get. I'm so in love with them!

topshop:

topshop over-sized shirt

topshop black pants

topshop golden shoes

topshop blue blouse

forever21:

forever21 Beatles shirt

forever21 black and red dress

finishing with the most beautiful: forever21 dark-blue dress

I so want these clothes!! Hope to get at least some topshop stuff. Also, I bought my Christmas outfit yesterday: an amazing yet simple H&M dress. Will put a picture of me in it soon.

This is what I want to wear (and first buy ;D) for New Year's Eve:

black H&M skirt, which goes perfectly with a certain top from H&M as well... there's no pictures of it on H&M website though.

Alternatively, I might also buy this:

Too many clothes and too little money :( But I so love fashion :D

They Were So Dirty and Pretty, These Things

Ooooooh yes, it was so hot! The Dirty Pretty Things concert on the 20th of December was by far the best concert this season. They're one of my favourite bands and they didn't disappoint me live in the slightest. It was even better to see them in real, being able to listen to the shrill guitars' riffs not just from the album.... and of course, there was this terrific, darnedly good-looking Carl Barât, once frontman of The Libertines (next to Pete Doherty), then of the Dirty Pretty Things and now that the DPT have split hopefully founding a new band!

Better Late Than Never!

I know it's been a while since I was at the Pigeon Detectives concert but I still feel the need to tell you about it! Summing up, it was awesome. Having released two albums (Wait For Me and Emergency) so far, the young British band played all their big songs. And although all songs pretty much resemble one another, partying at the concert was never over. It was a typical indie-concert with a lot of jumping, singing, shouting, having fun and getting bruises ;D

Back From Brussels

I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME! Actually, there's not so much to add. The EYMD were an amazing experience. I got to know young journalists between 18 and 30 years from all over Europe, talked to Memebers of the European Parliament, participated in discussion with politicians and journalists, saw a lot of Brussels and - what was the best - took part in the workshop EUROPOLITAN, where we created a women's magazine. It was awesome. My wish to become a political journalist is still alive but I've also come fond of making a fashion magazine or anything interesting for young women, which is why I'll definitely want to realise my intention to do an internship at a fashion magazine editorial staff.
The results of the workshops can be found here: http://blog.youthmediadays.eu/ You can read the magazine I created among others under "europolitan". My article is titled "Sex Sells. A New European Prostitution Era?" and is on page 10.
See you!

The Day After Tomorrow

Seeing All Vintage

Let's Dance to Joy Division!

Celebrate the irony! Everything is going wrong, but we're so happy.
